Ind Vs Pak Final: You Won’t Believe What Amount Is Being Charged For A 10-Second Ad

It won’t be wrong to say that the cricket match between India and Pakistan is not just any other game and holds much more significance for sports lovers of the concerned nations. Even though it’s not the national game of India or Pakistan, the citizens of both the countries are very serious and sensitive about it. If such is the vigor and excitement among viewers, it’s natural for the official broadcaster to make the most of the opportunity in terms of money and TRP.

The arch-rivals are going to face each other in the finals of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 which will take place on 18th June, 2017, i.e., tomorrow. It won’t be a thing of surprise if we say that prices of TV ads are likely to go higher during the match, which eventually would benefit the broadcaster to a great extent.
As per multiple media buyers, Star India has increased rates of ads five times during India vs Pakistan match on Sunday for the limited inventory. Yes, that’s right! Star India looks for charging Rs. 20 lakhs for an advertisement of 10 seconds. Just to inform, this rate used to be Rs. 4 lakhs for the same period of time; nevertheless, the media buyers are of the opinion that the broadcaster gets only 5% of ad inventory during a cricket match, which becomes 250 to 300 seconds. Individuals who disclosed these details denied revealing their identity. There had been no comment from the spokesperson of Star Sports over this.
Previously, media buyers were offered the India pack by Star India which comprised of two semi-final matches as well as the final match. These matches’ inventory had been sold for a whopping amount of Rs. 7.5-8 lakhs for 10 seconds.
According to Initiative Media India’s sr. vice-president R Venkatasubramanian, the investment is certainly good for the buyers of the ads if a match is as interesting as that of Sunday. Broadcast Audience Research Council stated that 201 million people watched Ind Vs Pak and it’s seen as the highest viewership for any one-day international match. However, media specialists believe that this record might be broken this Sunday.
