Devgad, also called deogarh, is a taluka based in sindhudurg district of maharashtra state. the town is extremely well known for alphonso mango production and devagd fort. devgad produces more than 50 thousand tons of alphonso mango every year through the farming land of 45 thousand acres area. the mango farmers work under the co-operative society of “devgad taluka amba utpadak sahakari sanstha ltd.”. being 30 years old, the society comprises more than 700 members.

The taluka, governed by series of kingdoms from 12th-century ad, the devagad fort was constructed in 1705 by kanhoji angre. the region is home to many serene as well as happening beaches, vast and extensive mango farmlands and historical architectural places. the taluka of devgad administrates more than 75 rural villages.

The large coastline of devgad beach attracts many visitors to this ancient town. one can spend time swimming and play around in the waves of the beach.

Situated at one of the coasts of the beach, the devgad fort delivers a viewer with a great panoramic sight of the harbor and the locale. the fort presents a ganesh temple, three ancient cannons, and the towering lighthouse.

The region observes numerous migratory birds and thus the countryside location is a perfect spot to perform this beautiful activity of birdwatching here. one of the villages of korle in devgad also sees many visitors worship at the popular temple of brahmadeo. the temple does not have a specific idol of a deity, but an installed rock.
