Guhagar Beach, Ratnagiri

Guhagar, is a temple town in Ratnagiri district and in all regards with many outstanding temples in and around. Temples committed to various forms of Lord Shiva like Vyadeshwar, Talkeshwar, Udaleshwar, Velneshwar, Balkeshwar and a temple of Ufrata Ganapati Guhagar truely lives upto its reputation. Chandika Mandir is another well known temple close by.The famous Vashishti River flows near Guhagar.


Guhagar beach is one of the cleanest and less polluted beaches in Maharashtra. It is located just within 200 metres from Guhagar S.T. Depot towards the western side. Guhagar beach is assumed to be very safe, with many venturing out to sea for a bath. Off late chat stalls and small food stalls have come up near the beach. Guhagar beach with its unspoiled white sand beach, offers all sanctity one looks in a secluded beach.

Getting There : 
Guhagar perched in the backdrop of lush green hills with the virgin Guhagar beach is a major attraction to the holidaymakers. To reach Guhagar from Pune it will take 6-7 hours. There are multiple routes to get to Chiplun from Pune, Guhagar is about 40 Kms from Chiplun. From Mumbai the route is via NH17 up to Chiplun.
By Air : Nearest airport is Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, which is nearly 300 km from Guhagar.
By Rail : If you are traveling to Guhagar from Mumbai you have the option of traveling by train. You need to travel upto Chiplun by train and from Chiplun Guhagar is about 40 Kms away.
By Road : Mumbai (Maharashtra) to Guhagar (Maharashtra) is 320 km. Pune to Guhagar : 288 kms
