Mumbai-Goa Highway: Panvel to Kasu concretization done, traffic open for Ganeshotsav toward Konkan.

NHAI has opened a 42 km section of the Mumbai-Goa highway, from Panvel to Kasu, for Ganeshotsav. The project involved dividing the highway into two packages. Package 1, Panvel to Kasu, is almost complete, with 38 km concretized. Package 2, Kasu to Indapur, is still underway. Additionally, 10 km of the road up to Nagothane is now pothole-free. Commuters can now travel from Palaspe Junction in Panvel to Nagothane in under an hour.

JM Mhatre Infra Pvt Ltd and Kalyan Toll Infra are handling the two packages after previous delays and financial issues with Supreme Tollways Pvt Ltd, the original contractor. The entire Mumbai-Goa highway is 460 km long, with 80% of the work on the NHAI-controlled section expected to be completed by year-end. The remaining portion is under the state government's NH PWD and is divided into ten packages, making steady progress towards completion.
