Maharashtra Full Red, Orange, Green zones list for lockdown post May 3


As lockdown 2.0 nears its end, the Union Health Ministry has identified 130 districts classified as red zones, 284 as orange zones and 319 as green zones across the country based on the density of novel coronavirus cases, the doubling rate of infection, the extent of testing and surveillance.

Of these, Maharashtra accounts for 14 red zones, 16 orange zones and 6 green zones. With over 10,000 confirmed cases to date, Maharashtra has the highest number of Covid-19 cases among Indian states and UTs. The final figure includes 1,773 recoveries and 459 casualties, also the highest in India.

Metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad have been designated as red zones in the new classification.

A district will only be considered a green zone if it has reported no confirmed cases of Covid-19 or no new cases of infection in the last 21 days.
