Fattegad Fort

To protect Suvarnadurga, 3 forts named Goa fort (not to be confused with Goa state), Kanakdurga and Fattegad were built on the coast near Harne village in Maharashtra. Amongst these, remnants of Fattegad include only its ramparts facing the sea.

It is not known when the fort was built, but it is said to have been built after Shivaji Maharaj’s reign. The area of the fort is around 3/4th of a hectare.

Remnants of Fattegad include only its ramparts facing the sea. Today this fort is a dwelling place for the local fishermen.

By Rail : Khed is a nearest railway station.
By Road : We can reach Harne village via Dapoli from Mumbai.
