YOU
WILL NEED
1. 1/2 kg - boneless CHICKEN
2. 1 - grated coconut
3. 1 tsp - cumin seeds
4. 2 - red chillies
5. 4 - onions, chopped
6. 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
7. 1 tbsp - roasted coriander seeds
8. 2 - green chillies
9. 3 - garlic pods
10. 2 tbsp - each of ginger and garlic
pastes
11. 2 tbsp - malwani masala
12. 2 tbsp - oil
13. water
14. Salt as per taste
15. Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
FOR
THE MALVANI MASALA
1. 12 - red chillies
2. 2 tsp - whole coriander seeds
3. 4/5 - cloves
4. 1/2 tsp - peppercorns
5. 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
6. 1/2 tsp - shahi jeera seeds
7. 4-5 - green cardamoms
8. 2-3 - black cardamoms
9. 1/2 cup - dry coconut, grated
10. 1 tsp - poppy seeds (khuskhus)
METHOD
1. Grind all the Malwani masala
ingredients and keep it aside.
2. In a pan roast the grated coconut and
whole red chillies.
3. Grind this roasted mixture with the
garlic pods, cumin seeds, roasted coriander seeds and water.
4. Now add green chillies, chopped
coriander, Malwani masala and a little more water.
5. Grind it again into a coarse masala
paste.
6. Heat the oil in a pan, add ginger and
garlic paste, chopped onions and cook for a while.
7. When the onions turn translucent, add
turmeric and cook for a few minutes.
8. Add the chicken to the pan, mix it well
and then add the masala paste.
9. Cook for 10-15 mins or till the chicken
is done and well coated in the masala .
10. Now garnish with coriander leaves....
